This part is written for children and young people who use TutorStudio. If you are reading it with a grown-up, that is fine too.
What is TutorStudio?
TutorStudio is a website where you can have lessons with a tutor. A tutor is an adult who helps you learn a subject — like maths, English, music, or anything else you are working on. Your parent or carer usually books the lessons.
Who works here?
Tutors on TutorStudio have to show us who they are and pass safety checks before they can teach. We also have a safeguarding lead — a grown-up whose job is to keep children safe.
What if something feels wrong?
Tell a grown-up you trust. That can be a parent, a carer, a teacher, or your safeguarding lead at school. You can also tell us through the report form, or call Childline on 0800 1111. Childline is free and they will not tell anyone unless you are in danger.
What counts as something wrong?
Anything that makes you feel unsafe, uncomfortable, scared, or confused. That includes someone asking you to keep a secret, sending pictures you did not ask for, asking you to meet up off the website, or saying things that upset you.
What will we do?
We will listen. We will not be cross. We will help you decide what to do next. Sometimes we have to tell another adult — like the police, social services, or a teacher — so they can help keep you safe. We will explain it to you first.
Can I see what you write down about me?
Yes. You have the right to ask for the information we hold about you, and to ask us to fix anything that is wrong. Ask a parent or carer to help, or write to us through the form.
What if I am the one being told something?
If a friend tells you they are not safe, that is hard to hear. You do not have to keep it a secret. Tell a grown-up you trust. You can also call Childline yourself and talk it through with them.
